Fall is a magical time of year to celebrate your love in Chicago. Between the gorgeous autumn leaves, the slightly cooler temperatures, and the beautiful way the sun lights the earth during this season, there is just so much to love. Amy and Logan’s fall wedding at Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo had a little bit of everything I love about the season. Their day was full of beauty and so much love, a perfect combination for an unforgettable celebration!
Getting Ready for Their Wedding at Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo
To prepare for the festivities to come, Amy and Logan chose to get ready in the company of their closest friends and family at the DoubleTree Hotel in Oakbrook. The space had stunning lighting for Amy’s hair and makeup artists to work in. After a couple drinks, and a TON of laughter, it was time to make our way to Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo where Amy would put on her wedding dress. Using the zoo’s hospitality room, Amy was able to get into her wedding dress easily and take a moment with her family, before going to see Logan for their first look.
Heading to one of the wooded areas of the zoo, we met up with Logan who was anxiously awaiting Amy’s arrival. The warm rays of sun, combined with the natural beauty of the landscape surrounding us, created a setting straight out of a storybook. Fitting for this fairytale was the magical moment between Amy and Logan when they first saw one another. Both were immediately so full of joy that they couldn’t help but to let out THE biggest smiles.
Fun Fall Portraits and an Outdoor Ceremony
Immediately after their first look, Amy, Logan, and I were able to document the majority of the couples portraits we’d take that day. The deep reds and maroons of Logan’s outfit, along with Amy’s hair and her bouquet, all popped so beautifully in the autumn sun. As we explored the grounds of Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo we eventually met up with the wedding parties for some group portraits. Everyone was beyond excited to be there, celebrating the immense love between Amy and Logan that had brought them all here today. Family portraits were up next, and a VERY important guest made an appearance for these! Amy and Logan’s infant son Emin joined them for a handful of the family portraits, and witnessing these two share their own beautiful love with their son that they brought into the world was so special.
As the sun began to set on the day, Amy and Logan’s outdoor ceremony began. The two chose to have their wedding ceremony looking out over the huge fountain of Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo. As beautiful as this space is, what made it even more amazing was the sea of blooming red poppies that perfectly matched Amy and Logan’s wedding colors. The two couldn’t have asked for a better setting for their ceremony. It was clear as their ceremony progressed just how much this day meant to everyone, none more so than Amy and Logan themselves. Their vows to one another were SO emotional, a true sign of their commitment to one another and to this next chapter of life together.
Celebrating Their Wedding at Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo
Amy and Logan kicked off their wedding celebrations immediately after their ceremony, and did so in the CUTEST way possible! The baby goats of Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo made an appearance to congratulate Amy and Logan after their wedding ceremony. Since portrait photos had already been taken care of, the two were able to enjoy this precious moment as well as the majority of their cocktail hour. Being able to be present during cocktail hour meant that Amy and Logan could actually spend some quality time with their guests before their reception began.
The reception itself took place under the covered pavilion of the Brookfield Zoo. Surrounded by their friends and family, Amy and Logan crafted the most authentic celebration for their love. Moving speeches, portraits on the carousel, some amazing first dances, and a night of dancing to THE best mix of alt rock throwbacks made this a night that Amy and Logan will forever adore to look back on.
Amy and Logan’s wedding at the Brookfield Zoo of Chicago will always be a favorite of mine. The unyielding love between them is one that I feel so honored to have been able to document, and I’m still in awe of the wonderful day they created to celebrate that love.
