More than anything, Rachel and Vail wanted to be present for every precious moment of their wedding in the Chicago suburbs. These two connect SO deeply with the ones they love, so with some creative timeline planning we were able to ensure that they could enjoy every piece of their wedding to the fullest. Follow along to see how we made it happen!

Getting Ready for Their Wedding in the Chicago Suburbs

One of the easiest ways to spend more time with those you love on your wedding day is by getting ready at your wedding venue. This cuts out a ton of travel time and allows you to actually enjoy this time with your favorite people. Rachel and Vail’s wedding day is the perfect example of this, as they both had THE best time getting ready with their friends at their venue in the Chicago suburbs. We then used the gorgeous outdoor patio for wedding party portraits as well as an incredibly emotional first look between Rachel and her father. So far their day was running exactly as we planned, and there was still so much joy to come!

An Unforgettable Wedding in the Chicago Suburbs

As guests for Rachel and Vail’s wedding began to arrive you could feel the excitement building throughout the venue. The beautiful brick walled ceremony space was abuzz with anxious chatter as everyone waited for the big moment. The ceremony was one of surreal beauty, with the most precious moment being when Vail turned to see Rachel in her dress for the first time. The love between these two is incredible to witness, and even more wonderful to document. Following the ceremony was a lovely cocktail hour on the outdoor patio of their wedding venue in the Chicago suburbs.

Once the indoor space had been swapped over to host the reception, it was time to head back inside. Rachel and Vail were so intentional, not just in how they crafted their wedding day, but also how they carried themselves through it. The two were fiercely present in each and every moment, making the day one of unforgettable celebration from start to finish. Whether it was the tear jerking toasts from those they love, the emotional first dances, or the absolutely packed dance floor, they were able to enjoy it all to the fullest.

Making Your Wedding Timeline Work for You

A top priority of mine as a wedding photographer is ensuring that my couples are able to fully enjoy themselves on the day of their wedding, without the need to worry about something like their timeline. I work with all my couples to create a timeline that fits the vision they have for their day, and sometimes that involves planning in some workarounds! Rachel and Vail’s wedding in the Chicago suburbs included one such workaround. You may have noticed we skipped out on couples portraits the day of their wedding, and that was intentional. We scheduled these photos for the following day, allowing these two to enjoy more time with their favorite people. This made their day flow perfectly, and is just one example of how getting creative with your wedding timeline can help to make the wedding day of your dreams a reality!

I’m so honored to have been a part of Rachel and Vail’s wedding in the suburbs of Chicago. These two share a love for one another, their friends, and their family that is so pure and such a treat to document.
