With winter being pretty much in full swing here in Chicago, I’m keeping warm by reliving some of my favorite moments from this fall. One of my favorites is Amy and Brandon’s elegant and beautiful wedding at the Tied House Restaurant in Chicago. From their fun and family focused portraits at North Avenue Beach (which included their 6 kiddos), to a night of dancing their hearts out with their favorite people, the love these two share is more than enough to keep me warm ALL winter long!

Portraits at North Avenue Beach

My day with Amy and Brandon began at the iconic North Avenue Beach of Chicago. While helping with their wedding planning, Amy and Brandon made it incredibly clear where their priorities were for the day: their family, their friends, and the love between them. Knowing this, we were able to streamline their day to give them the most time possible with those they love. Getting many of their portrait photos done early played a huge part in this, and with a space as stunning as North Avenue Beach it was a win win!

What made Amy and Brandon’s wedding even more amazing was how they were able to include their 6 children throughout all of the day’s best moments. Starting off with their portraits at North Avenue Beach, it was immediately apparent just what a special and loving family these two have created. The smiles, the laughter, and the endless joy, it was all SO contagious and such a wonderful way to start the day for Amy, Brandon, and their fam. After a few more portraits we all made our way towards the Tied House Restaurant in Chicago for the start of their wedding day festivities.

Heading to the Tied House Restaurant in Chicago for Their Wedding

Both Amy and Brandon are pretty creative professionals in their own right, so I was beyond excited to see how their wedding day reflected that side of them! Unsurprisingly they absolutely crushed it. The simple, elegant style of the Tied House Restaurant in Chicago perfectly matched the effortless and striking beauty they wove throughout each detail of their wedding day.

Upon arriving at the Tied House we had a little bit of time for some couples portraits prior to their ceremony. There’s no shortage of gorgeous photo opportunities in and around the Tied House Restaurant, and we were aiming to make the most of them! From the wonderful outdoor patio (shoutout to the STUNNING blue fireplace), to the lower level bar whose mirrored ceiling made it SUCH a vibe, we had endless backdrops to work with. While taking these portraits Brandon couldn’t take his eyes off of Amy, and it was perfectly clear how much this day meant to both of them. We finished up with a few more portraits before making our way to the second floor of the Tied House Restaurant for their ceremony.

Amy and Brandon had a little bit of time prior to the actual start of the ceremony where they could talk with their loved ones. This is just one example of how these two made sure to make the most of each and every moment on their wedding day, and I am ALL about it. The ceremony began soon after, and it was a simple, beautiful, and deeply intimate experience. With their children on either side, and their loved ones gathered in the upper level of the Tied House Restaurant to support them, Amy and Brandon tied the knot and were officially newlyweds!

Celebrating Their Wedding in the Tied House Restaurant of Chicago

Immediately after the ceremony was over, Amy and Brandon were swarmed by their kids who couldn’t wait to see their wedding rings. Like every part of the day so far, this and every moment that followed showcases the amazing love these two hold for everyone in their lives. After some lovely family portraits in the outdoor courtyard, some sunset portraits on the streets of Chicago, and a quick stolen kiss in the moody interior of Tied House, it was time to get the party started.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner courtesy of the Tied House Restaurant in Chicago, and soon after it came time for Amy and Brandon to cut their wedding cake. This then led into a night of unforgettable celebration. First was a toast from one of Amy and Brandon’s friends who absolutely crushed it. Then came a sweet and intimate first dance between Amy and Brandon. The only thing left then was a night of dancing with their loved ones. Complete with foam glow sticks, epic dance moves from the kids, and polaroid photos, the evening had it all!

Amy and Brandon’s wedding day at the Tied House Restaurant in Chicago was so special, and is one that I’m going to always love to look back on and relive. From the simple and elegant style, to the way they prioritize their time with their loved ones, their day is such a wonderful reflection of them that I adore having been a part of.
